the best feature of the room we stayed in was the bathroom. it was modern and everything worked well. the room was medium in size and the bed was the most comfortable in all of vietnam after having stayed in four different hotels previously. overall it provided the comfort much needed after a tiring day out in halong bay.

We stayed at the Crown for 3 nights. Located very close to jetties to Halong Bay. It's quite difficult to be critical of the hotel since the Staff were all so friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is a large building that requires updating.

location of hotel is a bit far from the boat deck for ha long bay. the hallway is old, carpet is dirty. breakfast is same everyday. hotel is catered to asian tour groups so there is a big group every morning for breakfast. room is clean although the shower stand is a bit small and water leaks at the bottom to the bathroom's floor. stay here only if you like quietness in the evening. there is not much to do around the hotel. there are plenty of restaurants and little shops behind the hotel. also there is a local outdoor market in the morning which sells everything from fresh produce to dry sundries. bedding is nice.
